چکیده
Abstract Nonlinear responses of superconductors to intense terahertz radiation has been an active research frontier. Using pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy, we investigate the c-axis nonlinear optical response a high-temperature superconducting cuprate. After excitation by single-cycle pump pulse, reflectivity pulse oscillates as pump-probe delay is varied. Interestingly, oscillatory central frequency scales linearly with frequency, fact widely overlooked in experiments. By theoretically solving reflection problem on interface, show our observation well explained Josephson-type third-order electrodynamics, together emission coefficient from inside material into free space. The latter results strong enhancement emitted signal whose physical around Josephson plasma edge. Our result offers benchmark for and new insights strong-field spectroscopy related quantum materials.

Giant Conductance Oscillations in a Normal Mesoscopic Ring Induced by an SNS Josephson Current
A theoretical explanation of giant conductance oscillations observed in normal mesoscopic rings with superconducting “mirrors” is proposed. The effect is due to resonant tuning of Andreev levels to the Fermi level, which enhances the transparency of the system to the normal current. The mechanism is demonstrated for a one-dimensional model system. PACS: 74.50.+r, 74.80.Fp, 73.20.Dx Typeset usin...

The development of compact and tunable room temperature sources of coherent THz-frequency signals would open a way for numerous new applications. The existing approaches to THz-frequency generation based on superconductor Josephson junctions (JJ), free electron lasers, and quantum cascades require cryogenic temperatures or/and complex setups, preventing the miniaturization and wide use of these...

Electrons with a linear energy/momentum dispersion are called massless Dirac electrons and represent the low-energy excitations in exotic materials such as graphene and topological insulators. Dirac electrons are characterized by notable properties such as a high mobility, a tunable density and, in topological insulators, a protection against backscattering through the spin-momentum locking mec...

We introduce a toy model that allows us to study the physical properties of a spin impurity coupled to the electrons in the superconducting island. We show that, when the coupling of the spin is of the order of the superconducting gap Delta, two almost degenerate subgap states are formed. By computing the Berry phase that is associated with the superconducting phase rotations in this model, we ...
متن کاملCurrent to frequency conversion in a Josephson circuit.
The voltage oscillations which occur in an ideally current-biased Josephson junction were proposed to make a current standard for metrology. We demonstrate similar oscillations in a more complex Josephson circuit derived from the Cooper pair box: the quantronium. When a constant current I is injected in the gate capacitor of this device, oscillations develop at the frequency f(B)=I/2e, with e t...
